Steam does not go online

go to steam in top left and select "go online" follow the steps after that and enter your info and see if that works.. or if you can get to offline try steam then settings then downloads and change your download region.sorry because I am not sure if you can do this in offline mode but wanted to mention it anyway here Since the last couple days, Steam has been refusing to go online.
